Summary

!haken, a food resembling 'Bushman rice' is also used by Bushmen. (L VIII.-9. 6789 rev., note). That !haken above which a certain fungus grows is given to the old people. (L VIII.-11. 6945 rev.-6954 rev.). The !gu !gu grows out of the !haken and is not eaten. The method of obtaining and administering !haken to the elderly (young people do not eat it) is also discussed.
