Summary

<i>...the Hare announces to the Moon the death of the Moon's mother, thereby causing his wrath, etc. (L IV.-4. 3886-3889)</i> A story about the origin of death in which the Moon's mother dies and the Moon tells the Hare that it shall cry because his mother is altogether dead and will not return. The Moon beats the Hare's mouth for contradicting him and telling the people that they will not return to life again when they die.
