Summary

|xue pours water on his sleeping wife and she curses him. His wife takes a fire-stick and beats his forehead and |xue runs off to another place where he sleeps on the ground. At sunrise the wife's father looks for |xue, calling for him as he goes. |xue rises up and his father-in-law gives him food to eat. |xue goes with his father-in-law to his house where |xue's wife waits. She says that he had resembled many different things while he was gone and that she had seen him. He had been a man at sunset and a lizard at sunrise. She warns him that he will get killed by another man when he goes in this form into another country.
