This "Sunday Times" article begins by describing Bleek's conscientious study of the very difficult speech of the Bushman, assisted by and continued by Lloyd after his death: a joint toil resulting in this volume which Lloyd also edited. Emphasises the importance of their study in the field of comparative philology and as a record of the Paleolithic Age. Briefly outlines the layout and illustration of the book. "Page 5" is handwritten under the name of the newspaper. The newspaper page is numbered 11 in print. The scrapbook page features the handwritten number 9 in the top right-hand corner.
