Notes

"Was Knysna the Headquarters of the Strandlooper Race? Evidence Everywhere of the Habitation of Some of Earth's Early People." "The Eastern Province Herald" reports that Knysna is about to become a centre of possibly world scientific interest due to it being the "headquarters" of the Strandlooper race. Recent discoveries there of "primitive man's habitation" will help to prove that Africa is the cradle of the human race. Includes discussion of Strandloopers as first cousins of Bushmen and new developments arising from the new discovery of centuries-old burial sites containing many Strandlooper skeletons and implements, found in the sand strata of low, flat ground being excavated for securement of railway construction material (previous remains were found in caves and rock shelters). The full-page article includes three captioned photographs of skeletal remains and stone implements (ring-stones and grinders). The newspaper clipping is stamped "Cape Town Kaapstad 25Aug28-4- [?]" in the centre. (Stamp is incomplete.)
