Notes

"Ancient African Culture. Dr Frobenius is Emphatic. Produces His Evidence to Large Audience." Report on German archaeologist Dr L Frobenius' presentation of his survey of the ancient cultures of Africa to a crowd at the Assembly Hall at the University of the Witwatersrand. Part of his lecture dealt with his hypotheses on rock paintings. He pointed out different styles in their representation of figures, some of which he said represented kings. He also put forward his belief ("We are faced with facts.") that a more ancient culture existed in southern Africa thousands of years before the known ones.
