"Prehistoric South Africa. Evidence of Early Culture. Vast Field of Archaeological Research." Report in "East London Dispatch" on an address given by Sir Henry Balfour at the British Association entitled "South Africa's Contribution to Prehistoric Archaeology". Balfour states that the sciences of ethnology and prehistoric archaeology must co-operate because "living Stone Age" peoples like the Bushmen have much to show archaeologists about the ancient Stone Age. Balfour singles out "enlightening researchers" like Dr Bleek, Stow (and others), "ably followed up by Miss Lloyd and Miss Bleek", who collected and made available valuable first-hand data on the Bushmen. Slip of paper pasted underneath clipping reads: "International Press-Cutting Bureau, 51, Red Lion St., London, W.C.I. Extract from East London Dispatch South Africa. Date 5 Aug 1929 [stamped]."
