Correspondence
A draft letter from Lucy Lloyd to Charles Orpen, dated 2 June 1882 from Charlton House, Mowbray, concerning the late George W Stow's Bushman painting copies. Lucy reports Roland Trimen's meeting with Orpen's brother. She expresses regret at Stow's death and, due to unsuccessful efforts to obtain news, now turns to Orpen for any details from Mrs Stow regarding Stow's wishes, executors and surviving children. She describes the value of Stow's paintings to her and Wilhelm's research and her hope to see the remainder of the collection. If no other plans were made, she would like to take charge of the works for possible publication with scholarly support and editing. Lucy asks after Stow's manuscripts sent to England and hopes to hear from Orpen soon.
