Summary

Lucy Lloyd's obituary, written by CS Burne, appeared in Folk-Lore: Transactions of the Folk-Lore Society, Vol. XXVI No. 1, dated 31 March 1915. In addition to biographical detail, Burne discusses Lucy's Bushman research in Mowbray, her publication of a report on the work, her unique knowledge of Bushman folklore and language, the scientific value of her research, and her publications. Burne notes Lloyd's dedication "To all faithful workers" and describes her as possessing "the quiet dignity of an old-fashioned English gentlewoman" in addition to "the painstaking accuracy of the truly scientific student". Includes the cover and pages 97-98.
