A copy of a prospectus for the monthly Journal for Native Folklore and Ethnology, to be edited by HC Schunke of the South African Philosophical Society. Printed in Umtata, Tembuland, and dated 16 February 1892, it was sent to Miss L Lloyd in Falmouth, England via Mowbray. The prospectus includes a Cape Times excerpt about the new journal, to be published by the publishers of the Umtata Herald. The outer cover features postal strikes from 18 and 19 March 1892, and the annual subscription cost is written on the reverse of the larger page.
