Correspondence
A brief note from Jemima Lloyd to Wilhelm Bleek, written inside the back flap of an envelope bearing her seal. She tells him to come at 2, or after lunch so he will not be hurried. The envelope, addressed to "Dr Bleek", is undated.
Dr Bleek, envelope, hurry, Jemima Lloyd, lunch, note, seal, time, visit, Wilhelm Bleek
1. It is likely that this envelope contained a note/letter sent by Jemima in the week or so leading up to the wedding on 22 November 1862, as they stayed apart. Jemima stayed at Mrs Roesch's boarding house during that period, as did Lucy Lloyd, while Wilhelm stayed at Parker's hotel. He visited Jemima at Mrs Roesch's before their marriage. 2. Jemima refers to sending Wilhelm her seal in her letter to him of 17 November 1862 [see C8.32].
