Summary

A short note from Jemima Lloyd to Wilhelm Bleek, written "past noon" on 18 November 1862, under a week before their wedding. Jemima writes that Hoba[?] arrived with something from Loui, but she did not wake up and Lucy meanwhile returned. She apologises for keeping Wilhelm waiting and promises to send "it" at once. Jemima gathers from a message that [illegible] declines the offer to fetch her and will come of her own accord later. Mrs [?] Evans suggests "ten" if Wilhelm wants to order a cab.

Notes

1. Although the note is not dated by Jemima, it was written a few hours after her 9am note on Tuesday the 18th. 2. The wedding was on 22 November 1862. 3. Mrs Evans appears in Wilhelm Bleek's letters, on a rough list of what appears to be wedding invitees. [See WB to JL, undated but presumed November before the wedding. C4.43].
