Correspondence
A short letter from Jemima Lloyd to Wilhelm Bleek, written "Monday after 9" on 17 November 1862, under a week before their wedding. Jemima assures Wilhelm of her full trust in him regarding the marriage settlement and does not write more for fear of delaying him for his meeting with Mr Fairbridge, the lawyer. Lucy has written to the lawyer Mr Reid for her, and Jemima will ask him all Wilhelm suggested. After he leaves, she and Lucy will discuss his advice. She notes Lucy is suffering today and asks Wilhelm to bring his card list when he visits.

1. "17 Nov 62" has been added in pen on the top of the first page, presumably on a later occasion. 2. The wedding was on 22 November 1862. 3. Both Mr Fairbridge and Mr Reid are Cape solicitors Wilhelm and Jemima consulted regarding the marriage settlement and/or antenuptial contract. [See WB to JL 17 November 1862, C4.27] 4. It is probable that the "card list" mentioned here is a list of people to send their new joint card to. [See WB, C4.43].
