Correspondence
A note from Jemima Lloyd to Wilhelm Bleek, written on Sunday 16 November 1862, just under a week before their wedding. She asks Wilhelm not to arrange the planned drive to visit "dear Mrs Hill" that afternoon as, even if the wind drops, they have too much to do to spare the time. She sends Loui's love and hopes Wilhelm was not affected by the previous day's cold wind. Jemima ends by expressing doubt as to whether her messages are reaching him unopened.

1. This note was not dated at the time of writing, but "16 Nov. 1862?" was added later. Because this note [draft?] is almost identical in content to another [see C8.30] sent Sunday morning of the 16th, that date is correct. 2. The wedding was on 22 November 1862. 3. Mrs Hill was the subject of Cape gossip, and Jemima did not even want to travel with her to the Cape. [See Jemima's letter to Wilhelm of 3 September 1862, C8.22]
