Correspondence
One of a series of notes from Jemima Lloyd to Wilhelm Bleek, written in Cape Town a week before their wedding. Labelled "Sunday morning", Jemima asks Wilhelm not to arrange their visit to "poor Mrs Hill" that afternoon due to the strong wind and too much left to do. With Mr Hill returning, the urgency of their visit is also lessened - though they would still go if they could.

1. Judging by her and Wilhelm's notes, Jemima arrived in the Cape some time between 10 and 14 November. Their wedding was on 22 November 1862. 2. Sunday morning means it is 16 November 1862. 3. Mrs Hill was the subject of Cape gossip, and Jemima did not even want to travel with her to the Cape. [See Jemima's letter to Wilhelm, 3 September 1862, C8.22]
