A typewritten letter via air mail from Helen Hause to Professor Louis Maingard, from Chicago, on 20 February 1950 regarding the proofreading, typing of and changes made (or not made) to the proofs of Dorothea Bleek's Bushman Dictionary. Hause confirms receiving his corrected proofs and suggestions and sending packages of manuscript to Dr Scott as directed. She reports an unfortunate delay in the work due to her going away for a year and the task being left in the hands of someone unequal to it. She has resumed the work and hopes the typing will be finished soon. Due to "typographical difficulties" Hause also reports that she and Dr Harris have been unable to make certain changes that Maingard suggested. She has written to Scott about making a compromise.
