A letter from Professor Louis F. Maingard to Dr KMF Scott, from Johannesburg on 13 December 1949. Dr Scott is managing the publication of her aunt Dorothea Bleek's Bushman Dictionary after her death the previous year. Maingard responds belatedly to Scott's letter concerning the Dictionary proofs. Communication with the American Oriental Society has been a problem and, as a result, the time he put aside for proofreading has been lost and he is unable to do the work. He will try and find someone in Johannesburg to take it over, if Scott approves, and will write to the American Oriental Society with the new arrangements.
