Correspondence
A copy of Dorothea Bleek's letter to Professor Louis Maingard, 14 May 1947. She thanks Maingard for his letter and for forwarding her Dr Smeath-Thomas' concerning her £500 grant from the now-defunct Research Grant Board (of which Smeath-Thomas was Chairman) for the publication of her Bushman Dictionary. Dorothea updates Maingard on her attempt to apply for the grant to be awarded and informs him she is closing with the American Oriental Society to publish the Dictionary, although she would have liked the publication to be "wholly South African".
