Correspondence
Letter from Professor Gerard Lestrade at the University of Cape Town to Dorothea Bleek, 10 November 1944. Lestrade responds to Dorothea's letter asking if UCT would publish or help with the publication of her Bushman Dictionary. Lestrade has discussed her request with Professor Schapera, Chairman of UCT's Editorial Board, and they believe there may be a chance of the university assisting financially with the publication. To get an idea of what the cost would be, Dorothea must send Lestrade specimen pages from both Bushman-English and English-Bushman parts for submission to Lovedale Press for an estimate. Lestrade and Schapera will then approach UCT authorities, possibly only next year though.
