A letter from Professor Louis Maingard from the University of the Witwatersrand to Dorothea Bleek , 10 July 1949. Maingard is concerned that Dorothea believes he has lost enthusiasm for her work due to his delayed response to her previous letter - he assures her he still wants to help. Maingard gives a sequence of numbered answers to questions she asked him - for instance, the use of capital letters in symbols. He refers to Clement Doke's work in his answer, as well as to Wilhelm Bleek's use of symbols. He tells her when he is available to read though the # portion of her MS.
