Van der Riet is glad Dorothea is pleased with the paintings she has just received from them, as they were worried she would find them disappointing. Van der Riet reports on their upcoming trip to Graaff-Reinet to copy as many paintings and engravings as they are able to find. Van der Riet will try to get information about the farms mentioned by Dorothea. She informs Dorothea of the colours of the large figure in a Misgund photograph.
