Correspondence
A letter from John Hewitt to Dorothea Bleek, from the Albany Museum in Grahamstown on 26 February 1932, concerning the copying of Bushman paintings in the region and his judgement of the set made by Joyce van der Riet [and her sister Molly, not mentioned]. Hewitt recommends the colour sketches made, especially their fidelity. He hopes van der Riet will continue copying the Wilton series in the district, as it is well worth it. He will take photographs of the originals where possible, although conditions can be unfavourable and photographs are only supplementary for an artist.
