Correspondence
A letter from Wilhelm Bleek to Frances (Fanny) Lloyd, sent from Cape Town on 13 December 1865. Wilhelm thanks Fanny for her letter and her father's; he also adds thanks to Lucy for hers. He reports Jemima is doing well, though still weak and suffering from headaches; Edith and the others are well. He asks Fanny to confirm whether a letter from Uncle Marmaduke arrived in the last Mail, as they have heard nothing from England and are unsure if Jemima's funds have been transferred to her Trustees. He is asking Fanny, as Lucy's health may prevent her from writing. Wilhelm is returning Rev. Lloyd's letter to them and enclosing Julia's and Nellie's. In a postscript he again mentions Lucy's poor health and asks whether Julia has shared her plans for after Christmas. In a short addendum dated 14 December, he notes that Jemima is doing "comfortably well".
