Correspondence
A letter from Wilhelm Bleek to Frances (Fanny) Lloyd, sent from Cape Town on 19 August 1862. Wilhelm thanks Fanny for her letter and expresses his hope to soon stand as her relation once "darling Jemmie" is his by right. He mentions Jemima's upcoming visit to his family in Bonn and refers Fanny to his letter to Lucy for more details, though some "anxieties and cares" will remain private. Rev. Lloyd has not yet given consent but has asked for an "explanation", which Wilhelm has duly sent. He shares news of his sister's marriage in Buenos Aires and thanks Fanny for her wish that Lucy come to Cape Town to assist with wedding arrangements. He regrets not meeting Fanny and Julia in Natal, but he cannot leave the Cape. Jemima is now expected to travel in October by Mail, and Bleek is thankful things are turning out better than expected. He ends by urging Fanny to care for her own health and reassures her about the ultimate restoration of Jemima's.
