Correspondence
An undated note in pencil ("1½ pm") from Wilhelm Bleek to Jemima Lloyd. Wilhelm informs Jemima of his plans to bring Mr Trimen, who wishes to be introduced, to see her. He then discusses having to "put off" a 3 o'clock visit with Trimen, as he has invited him that night instead, and wonders whether he should go into town to inform him or write a letter.

1. Although this note isn't dated, it was probably written the week before the 22 November 1862 wedding, as Trimen was invited and would likely have wanted to be introduced to Jemima beforehand. 2. Roland Trimen, etymologist and friend of Wilhelm Bleek, was associated for many years with the SA Museum. 3. Tom is the "American Negro" formerly first cook on the wrecked Waldensian and employed by Wilhelm for the New Street house [see C6.5: Bleek's letter to Fanny Lloyd, 30 October 1862]. He also runs errands and delivers parcels, letters and messages for Wilhelm and Jemima.
