Summary

A letter from Wilhelm Bleek to Jemima Lloyd, sent from Cape Town and dated 20 July 1862. In this letter Wilhelm discusses many practical details such as Jemima's upcoming voyage to the Cape, the question of her travelling to Natal before her marriage, and Lucy Lloyd's travel to the Cape to prepare for Jemima's arrival. Wilhelm also updates Jemima on the (positive) progress of his Grey Library position. He reports sending Lucy a letter for her father informing him of her sister's engagement; he also refers to other correspondence, for example with Jemima's sisters. Other discussion includes his concern for Jemima's health and potential overexertion shopping, planning for their wedding and married life and her voyage. Wilhelm also discusses financial matters and the management of Jemima's fortune through the appointment of Cape Trustees.
