Correspondence
A letter from Jemima Bleek to Ernst Haeckel sent from Cape Town on 25 November 1878. Jemima writes that she is sending a photograph of Wilhelmine (hopefully by Christmas) and describes the child and their outing to the photographer. She mentions reading of Haeckel's visit to Paris, asks after his children and hopes for a photograph of their mother. Jemima wishes to meet her one day when she is able take her own children home to their fatherland (when Wilhelmine is older and all are healthy). She reports all are well, but Lucy suffers due to overwork and protracted anxiety. Jemima adds that she will comment on Lucy's work another time and that Lucy may write a few lines herself the next morning. Both send warm greetings.
