A letter from Lucy Lloyd to Ernst Haeckel sent from the Grey Library on 16 February 1876. Lucy reports on family news from Charlton House, including Jemima's weak but improving health and the good health of the new baby. She encloses a newspaper article by Dr van Oordt on Wilhelm Bleek's Bushman studies, hoping he may assist their future efforts. She also mentions Dr Dale's article on Haeckel's work in the latest "Cape Monthly Magazine", sent via book post, which she thinks will "amaze" him. She also describes how Dr Dale's past efforts to keep in with the clergy disgusted Wilhelm. In a postscript, Lucy notes Jemima has not yet received news about the success of her Civil List pension petition.
