Correspondence
A letter from Jemima Bleek to Ernst Haeckel, sent from Cape Town on 15 October 1875. Jemima informs Haeckel that he will soon receive, via book post, 12 copies of the letter of appeal commencing with "Sir" and six copies with a blank space for titles. Lucy (Loui) also asks her to convey that four copies each are being sent to D Kohler, Dr Cohen and Dr Petermann to distribute further. Jemima adds she has written separately to Lepsius, Virchow and Haug about the appeal, referring them to Haeckel as its manager in Germany. She apologises for writing in haste.
