Correspondence
A letter from Wilhelm Bleek to Sir George Grey, sent from Cape Town on 15 November 1872. Bleek writes of ongoing Bushman research with Lucy Lloyd, though their instructors are homesick and efforts to bring their wives to them have failed. He believes they need two more years to be expert in the language, with 4000 columns of text completed. At the Grey Library, the inventory of Grey's books and manuscripts is nearly complete, at which time he will send Grey a copy. Bleek then comments on major political changes in the Cape. He closes by hoping Grey will write or visit to witness South Africa's "new life" and the future he once promised.
