Correspondence
A letter from Wilhelm Bleek to Sir George Grey, sent from Cape Town on 19 February 1870. Bleek expresses concern after hearing reports of Grey's poor health and comments on Grey's "colonial affairs" article in the "Fortnightly", welcoming growing support for his views on the "Colonial Question" from intelligent men like James Froude and referring to England's future colonial policies. Bleek informs Grey that, per his request, the SA Public Library will return the 18-volume Native Languages set he presented it in 1858. Bleek plans to send these and other duplicate South African books once Grey is back in New Zealand. He closes with news of his family's good health, a rumour about Sir Wodehouse's marriage and a warm affirmation of their continued attachment to Sir George.
