Correspondence
A draft letter by Donald Moodie in response to someone calling themself "Ignoramus" who questioned an entry in Moodie's Records for the year 1669 describing booty taken from "a gang of certain Hottentots called the Griquas", which Ignoramus dismissed as "nonsense". Moodie cites page 303 of the "Records", quoting a dispatch to Holland dated 22 March 1669, which confirms that a corporal on the expedition seized cattle and sheep from the Griquas following a violent encounter.
