Correspondence
A letter from Edwin Norris to Wilhelm Bleek, dated 5 April 1858 and sent from the Foreign Office. Norris replies to Bleek's recently received - and since misplaced - letter, referencing the enclosed list of language books for Sir George Grey and his plans to locate some of them. He mentions he will write to Sir George directly. He notes receiving a letter from Georg Sauerwein, now back in Germany, and praises his linguistic skill. Norris briefly mentions his "Cornish work" and laments being "worked to death in this den", adding that he may resign due to exhaustion. In a postscript, he says he is preparing an "Otchi" Gospel for the Bible Society and comments on Rev. CH Hahn's new Herero Grammar and Dictionary. He encloses letters and books.
