Summary

First in a series of notes from Jemima Lloyd to Wilhelm Bleek after arriving in Cape Town, written on 15 Nov 1862, a week before their wedding. On Saturday morning at 9am Jemima writes of her distress over Tom returning to Wilhelm without waiting for her answer. If Tom does not return soon she plans to send Wilhelm a message to ease their mutual anxieties. Loui is at breakfast. Jemima cannot address the "business part" [of Wilhelm's note] and feels "the other" matter is too sensitive to discuss in an unsafe message.
