Correspondence
A letter from Jemima Lloyd to Wilhelm Bleek, written at 1pm on 21 November 1862, the day before their wedding. Jemima informs Wilhelm that Mr Reid has delivered the legal "paper" she was waiting for, which she is sending at once. Reid left behind her written instructions, which she regrets, as they clearly reflected what she and Wilhelm discussed - especially since he failed to carry out two or three of them. Jemima will note her queries separately and asks Wilhelm to read both her notes and Reid's draft before they meet to discuss alterations. She finds it awkward that Wilhelm's name must be kept out of the process due to his "painful unpleasant" position. She encourages him to eat before coming, wonders where Lucy is and sends him their marked copy of the old draft in case it is useful.
