Summary
A letter of "scraps" from Jemima Lloyd to Wilhelm Bleek, dated 20 January 1862 (written at night). She eagerly awaits his next letter. She recommends a popular novel by "Miss Mulock", wishing to hear his opinion, as it makes her think of him and life's realities. Dr Russell advised her to rest and lie down often, which has limited her writing time. Nearly a year has passed since Loui persuaded her to come to England for her health-she is much better but not yet strong enough to return to Africa and is determined to get well so she can do so wisely. She bids goodbye and retires.
